How Much Will My Newborn Sleep?

  • How much will my newborn sleep?

Infants can sleep 16 to 20 hours in those first two weeks of life.

After two weeks of life, infants will start to wake up and have more alert time during the daytime.

They're still going to have day/night reversal so make sure parents are taking those naps during the daytime when baby is sleeping.

It's going to take about six weeks for your infant to figure out the difference between daytime and nighttime and start to sleep more restfully at nighttime and be up more during the daytime.
